Note this post has errors due to a slower update of SST data – leading to spuriously low temperatures.
The average global temperature anomaly for June 2025 was 0.84 C . This is mostly due to colder than average temperatures in the southern hemisphere.

This is a significant global drop in global temperatures.
The drop off is also seen in Berkeley Earth

Hello Clive ,
Well this is going to be embarrising to some ……
Paul
I don’t recall seeing the mass media reporting this dramatic change in temperature. We are certainly feeling it in Australia with the coldest temperatures in 25 years.
I just returned from Australia and agree it was much cooler than I expected. We drove from Perth to Exmouth which I expected to be very hot (it wasn’t!). Afterwards visited my daughter and family in Brisbane where again it was cool.
Clive,
“The drop off is also seen in Berkeley Earth”
But nothing like you are showing. Most other indices showed a drop of a few hundredth’s from May, and all show June 2025 to be warmer than all Junes before 2023.
This plot from BE puts it in perspective:
Here is my plot of what other indices are showing for this year:
Is CO2 an indicator of a change in the climate since the % in the atmosphere is far too small to cause any noticable temperature change. Beer – Lambert law suggests that in the solution that is the atmosphere temp absorption is proportional to %.
Looks like any increase in CO2 id from a warming sea and not human activity ?

The upper limit to water-vapor-increase from warming is bounded by the Clausius-Clapeyron relation. Measured water vapor increase is about 40 % more than significantly possible from just planet warming. This FALSIFIES the assumption by many climate scientists that water vapor increase is just feedback from temperature increase caused by CO2 increase.
